TAK Ms Shigeshigetani S001 (FB20751) is a well-bred and extremely fertile cow with an excellent flush history and proven calf-raising ability, having raised multiple outstanding natural calves. The following list of famous sires makes up 98.5% of her total genetics:

  • 50% Shigeshigetani, her direct sire, one of the Wagyu breed’s most famous second-generation sires, himself being sired by the foundation sire and out of Suzutani, widely regarded as being the “queen of the breed” and the best carcass female to have left Japan.
  • 25% Itozuru Doi, her maternal grandsire, who is one of the most sought-after sires in the Wagyu breed, known for having size and early growth while also possessing outstanding marbling and marbling fineness characteristics.
  • 12.5% Sanjirou, one of the breed’s most famous second-generation sires, himself being sired by the foundation sire Michifuku and out of Suzutani.
  • 6.3% Kitaguni Jr., one of the most highly regarded foundation sires in the breed, being in the top 1% of the breed for marbling based upon the AUS EBV data, while also having better size compared to most high-marbling Tajima-line foundation sires.
  • 3.1% Kikuhana, a foundation sire with outstanding size and physical conformation.
  • 1.6% Kikuyasu-400, the largest Tajima-line sire exported from Japan.

Her Yuriko-1 foundation dam makes up the remaining 1.5% of her total genetics and was grand-sired by the famous Dai 20 Hirashige 287, who is double-bred Kedaka 7212.

She has a well balanced pedigree, stoutly build, with a medium-to-larger-sized frame (1,200 lbs) with outstanding phenotype and conformation. Her pedigree indicates that she should contribute excellent carcass qualities as well as good size and good maternal traits to her offspring. She is very docile and “easy keeping”, and she has proven herself to have excellent calf-raising characteristics.

She is tested free of the known genetic recessive disorders.  DNA tests:  SCD=VV; Tenderness=4.
